Job Title:Catering Assistant

Salary: £11,829 – 13,886

Location: Cambridge; UK.

Contract: Part time; 20 hours per week 

Shift patterns for this position are either 09:30 - 13:00 or 11:00 - 15:00 (4 hours per day; Monday to Friday)

 

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Catering Assistant, with quality catering and hospitality experience, to join a dynamic and customer focused catering team, working to produce and deliver excellent service to all Cambridge staff, guests, and visitors.

About the role

We have two main sites at Cambridge: Triangle - Main dining area, coffee stand, Grab & Go, and a pizzeria. University Printing House is across the road and a minute walk from Triangle which has a main dining area and cafe. 

Duties will include: 

  • To serve customers with a friendly and professional manner.
  • Assist with the preparation of our Grab and Go items.
  • Set up the servery and display counters.
  • Ensure all the service, eating areas and catering equipment are always clean.
  • Take payment on the cashless catering tills and kiosks.

 

About you

The ideal Catering Assistant will have proven customer service skills gained through experience working in within a high-volume restaurant / café environment. You will be an enthusiastic and self-motivated team player with great attention to detail and the ability to bring and share new ideas.

You will be able to plan your own work and have the demonstrative ability to manage your workload when under pressure to meet multiple deadlines.

Enjoy contributing to the excellent reputation of the department and bring a positive and friendly attitude to the Team.

You will possess a customer service qualification as a minimum; a hospitality qualification is desirable.
