Our client is a shipping firm located in Lincolnshire, Illinois that provides a full line of shipping and logistics services. Some of the shipping services they provide include expedited shipping, dry van, temperature controlled shipping, dedicated capacity, flatbed and intermodal freight services. They service multiple industries, including building products, retail, CPG, food and beverage, healthcare, industrial, and raw materials. Trust and reliability are the core of their business. Carrier Sales Representative
This role will manage the movement of freight from coast to coast for companies of all sizes, in all different industries. This role will focus on and grow our client’s brokerage side of the business and help customers move their inventory in the most cost-effective way by identifying and implementing swift logistics solutions. This role will be expected to provide top-tier service, whether it be an established or prospective customer. The Carrier Team will uphold our client’s strong commitment to success by addressing concerns and making quick concise decisions to support their ever-growing portfolio of accounts.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage and grow relationships with carrier base.
  • Engage in rapid “on the fly” rate negotiations with carriers.
  • Target prospective new carriers through outbound “warm” calling to build your book of business.
  • Utilize investigative sales techniques to further develop carrier capacity.
  • Manage dry van, refrigerated, flatbed, and drayage shipments.
  • Assign, dispatch and track all shipments with carriers.
  • Assist in support and execution of quoting opportunities for first time and existing customers.
  • Proactively address problems and implement effective, timely solutions.
  • Serve as the liaison between an individual/company that needs shipping services and an authorized motor carrier.
Experience:
  • Bachelors or associates degree with a sales focus.
  • Minimum of 2 years of Carrier Sales experience.
  • Must bring Carrier relationships.
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced and highly competitive sales market.
  • High level multi-tasking ability with strong organization skills.
  • "People person," friendly, outgoing, and confidence is a must.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment, but able to conduct themselves and their work independently, driven to achieve individual results without being micro managed.
