About the Role
Join our innovative operations team as an Automation Software Engineer at our Porcari Plant in Lucca. You will have a key role as a reference point for managing and modifying the software infrastructure on the Paper Machines lines. Involved in the development of projects for the Distributed Control System (DCS), you will contribute to operational requests and improvements. You will collaborate in the documentation and archiving of the network infrastructure, effectively managing backups. Executing software changes with a focus on team technical training, you will actively participate in fault finding and implement corrective actions. You will contribute to defining stock standards for electronic equipment and drafting procedures based on implemented changes. You will be an integral part of our commitment to continuous improvement, implementing software standards, and providing training to the line personnel. What you will do:
* Software Development: Design and develop software solutions for industrial process automation, with a focus on precision and efficiency.
* Programming and Configuration: Write, test, and implement code for Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), SCADA systems, and other automatic control devices. Configure and integrate new devices and systems into the existing operational environment.
* System Integration: Collaborate with other teams to ensure effective interoperability between systems and devices involved in automated processes.
* Distributed Control: Design distributed control systems to manage complex industrial processes across a network of devices.
* Testing and Debugging: Conduct thorough tests to ensure the proper functioning of the software and resolve any issues or bugs.
* Documentation: Create detailed documentation, including user manuals and technical documents, to facilitate understanding and use of the software.
* Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with electrical engineers, technicians, mechanics, and production staff to ensure effective synergy between software and hardware.
* Maintenance and Updates: Continuously monitor and improve software performance, implementing necessary updates to ensure maximum efficiency.
* Software Security: Implement security measures to protect the software from external threats and ensure the security of data and automated processes.
* Training: Provide technical training to personnel involved in the use and maintenance of automated systems.
Who you are:
* Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent level of experience.
* Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing industrial automation systems.
* In-depth knowledge of PLCs, SCADA, distributed control systems, and industrial communication protocols.
* Advanced programming skills and ability to solve complex problems.
