Location: Online
University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) seeks a part-time Accounting Tutor to provide online tutoring support to undergraduate and graduate students. Tutoring is offered in a variety of ways, including visual conferencing via Zoom sessions, which students can attend, and real-time audio and live chat sessions using the Tutor.com platform, which students can access from their classrooms.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Respond to undergraduate and graduate students' questions and concerns related to UMGC's accounting courses
- Offer students appropriate resources to improve their accounting skills
- Promote a professional, respectful, and safe online learning environment
- Work more closely with English language learners
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Knowledge of U.S. GAAP
- An active CPA license
- An MS or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning.
- 5 years of professional work experience tutoring and/or teaching.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills in English.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Background in teaching, tutoring, and other type of learning support initiatives to include accounting support.
