Come work on the Amazon Robotics – Mechatronics & Sustainable Packaging (MSP) Team!
We are looking for an outstanding Technical Program Manager who will be focused on Vendor Management. The Technical Vendor Manager is responsible for managing and maintaining relationships with external technology vendors to ensure the successful delivery of products and services. This role involves collaborating with internal stakeholders (Legal, Operations, Maintenance, Process, OpsEngineering, Finance etc.),supporting Supply Chain/Legal in negotiating contracts, monitoring vendor performance, and resolving any technical issues that may impact Amazon due to MSP vendor inefficiencies.
The primary role of the MSP team is to drive future innovation across all aspects of Mechatronics and Packaging, across industrial hardware/control machines such as robotic cells, autonomous vehicles, sortation, packing technologies and packaging materials. We drive strategic partnerships with key stakeholders such as Operations, RME, ACES, Supply Chain, Transportation, WW Design, etc. to ensure we deliver robust products that effectively integrate into the Amazon Fulfillment network.
The Technical Vendor Manager will spearhead initiatives aimed at optimizing the performance of our vendor ecosystem, ensuring that our vendors consistently meet and exceed the performance standards set by our organization. This role necessitates close collaboration with our vendors and internal stakeholders, including but not limited to Supply Chain, Legal, Customer Fulfillment Operations, ACES, WWDE, Operations Engineering, and Finance.
A successful candidate is able to drive multiple initiatives simultaneously and effectively leverages support from other teams and peers within their own team. Effective verbal and written communication is a key skill to generate alignment between MSP and the vendor. This candidate requires strong attention to detail, technical penetration, excellent communication skills, collaboration, analytical and abstract thinking, time management and organizational skills.
We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following countries:
Germany, Spain, England, Italy, France
Key job responsibilities
• Travel up to 50% of the time to i) actively engage with vendors, cultivating strong relationships and gaining firsthand insights into their operations and ii) incorporate customer feedback gathered during onsite visits into Vendor Management strategies
• Collaborate with vendors to elevate their performance in alignment with our organization's expectations.
• Establish and refine key performance indicators (KPIs) for vendor services, ensuring they meet or surpass customer satisfaction requirements
• Support reporting of key performance metrics across internal & external stakeholders
• Develop strategies to delve into technical aspects, fostering a deeper understanding of vendor capabilities and areas for enhancement
• Work closely with technical leaders and Program Managers to compose and influence product improvement road-map according to vendor capabilities
• Demonstrate strong program management, organizational, and leadership skills to facilitate effective, collaborative project meetings with vendors
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement with vendors, encouraging proactive identification and implementation of performance enhancement opportunities
• Proactively address and resolve performance-related issues with vendors.
• Maintain a customer-centric focus by aligning vendor performance with the high standards expected by our customers.
• Provide regular updates to internal stakeholders on the status of vendor relationships
• Prepare and present reports on vendor performance, issues, and resolutions.

QUALIFICHE DI BASE

- Years of technical product or program management experience
-Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
-Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
-Familiarity with key performance indicators and data-driven decision-making
- Strong understanding of technology and the ability to assess technical capabilities of vendors
- Project management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Experience working directly with engineering teams

QUALIFICHE PREFERENZIALI

- Years of proven experience in technical Vendor Management.
- Experience collaborating with finance and procurement teams to manage vendor-related budgets
- Excellent negotiation and contract management skills
