From our office in the town of Frascati (Rome), CGI Italy helps scientists and entrepreneurs in processing Earth Observation data using cutting edge IT technologies to streamline big data analytics. System Integration Engineer

Your future duties and responsibilities:

· Integrate new components in a wide architecture

· Plan and execute system integration

· Plan and execute system verification

· Implement and enhance CI /CD for the automatic deployment

· Improve performance and optimizing costs

· Maintain containers/VMs templates and deployments

· Provide support on CGI applications and platforms

· Document operational procedures, postmortems, etc.

Skills and Organizational requirements:

· Experience with RedHat Enterprise Linux/CentOS/Rocky Linux

· Experience with shell scripting (Bash)

· Network competencies (IP networking, VPNs, DNS, load balancing and firewall)

· Mastery with versioning control systems (Git)

· Experience with microservices and distributed application architecture (Kubernetes)

· Experience with commercial cloud services and APIs (AWS, Google Cloud)

· Knowledge of advanced infrastructure management systems like AWS CloudFormation/Terraform

· SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL)

· Fluency in English

Experience with the following technologies is considered a plus:

· NoSQL (Elasticsearch) databases

· Experience with monitoring solutions (Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios)

This is a permanent contract position with the possibility to do part of the work activity in smart working.
