Research activities will focus on the development of innovative techniques for field crops, aimed at crop diversification and resilience of farming systems with respect to climate change, with specific reference to plant protein production. Particular emphasis will be placed on the assessment of the production potential of minor crops, including their introduction into cropping sequences, as well as on the evaluation of new agro-ecological practices on major crops (cultivar screening, cultivar mixtures, intercropping, etc.). The work will be developed in cropping systems at field and farm levels, both on winter and spring crops.
