We are a leading research institution dedicated to advancing scientific discovery and innovation in the field of metabolomics. Our state-of-the-art Metabolomics Unit utilizes cutting-edge analytical techniques to elucidate the complex metabolic pathways underlying various biological processes. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Analytical Chemist to join our dynamic team and contribute to our mission of discovering the role of metabolism in healthy and pathological conditions.

The person filling this position will focus on:

As an Analytical Chemist in our Metabolomics Unit, you will play a key role in conducting advanced analytical experiments to profile and quantify small molecules in biological samples. You will be responsible for developing and optimizing analytical methods, operating sophisticated instrumentation, analyzing data, and interpreting results. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Analytical Chemistry, particularly in mass spectrometry and chromatography, and a keen interest in applying these techniques to address challenging questions in metabolomics research.

Educational qualifications: Ph.D. or M.S. in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong background in Analytical Chemistry, with expertise in mass spectrometry and chromatography techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with LC-MS instrumentation and data analysis software (e.g., Compound Discoverer, MS Dial, MetaboAnalyst).
  • Proficiency in sample preparation techniques for metabolomic analysis, such as extraction, derivatization, and solid-phase extraction.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot instrument issues independently.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Preferential requirements:

  • Prior experience in metabolomics research or related fields is highly desirable.
  • English: B1 or higher (for non-native speakers)

 

Humanitas on the basis of the profiles received, will activate in the terms indicated, the screening process by inviting suitable candidates to participate in the interviews of selection, after verification of the cv and qualifications, which will be held in presence or in call. The recruitment board, will be composed by the Project Manager and the Human Resources Department, will be responsible for the overall evaluation and cv received and will give feedback to the candidates within 60 days of the first interview.
